started his business career at SBC Warburg in Frankfurt in 1989 as a management trainee before he joined the Corporate Finance department. He worked on several large transactions at SBC Warburg’s offices in Zurich and London such as the proposed merger of Swissair with a number of European carriers as well as the EUR 2.4 bn final privatisation of Lufthansa in 1997, the largest-ever privatisation in Germany, and the sale of Thyssen Haniel Logistics to Belgian Railways. In 1998 he joined Value Management & Research AG (VMR), a German VC and asset management company. At VMR Mr. Girnth was head of Corporate Finance and managed VMR’s investment portfolio. In early 2001 he was promoted to a board member of VMR. Mr Girnth is also head of the supervisory board of VEM Aktienbank AG, a German bank concentrating on investment banking services for small and medium-sized companies and also heads the supervisory board of Impera Total Return AG. Mr. Girnth holds a degree in business administration from the University of Goettingen. Matthias Girnth joined Acxit Capital Management in February 2003 with special focus on complex M&A transactions as well as Capital Markets deals. |
