Steps for children
In March 2006, Dr. Michael Hoppe initiated the first aid project in northern Namibia for the foundation “steps for children”. As of today, up to 600 children are supported in their kindergarten, preschool and afternoon groups on five project sites. The project mainly takes care of traumatized children and adolescents in need, often also affected by the occurrence of HIV/AIDS in their families.
Steps for children differentiates itself from other aid projects by its “steps”, which are small, financially independent and profitable businesses, contributing to the social projects. In the long run, the aid projects are envisaged to run completely independent from donations and development aid.
The foundation aims to open a new perspective for children and adolescents by providing them with long-time support in their education and practical training – enabling them to help themselves to a better future.
ACXIT is proud to contribute to this great project!
