Sale of Winemaker Binderer Group to Les Grands Chais de France

Frankfurt, 18 October 2017. Peter Binderer, sole shareholder and CEO of Binderer Group, announced the intended sale of his shares in Binderer St. Ursula Weinkellerei GmbH (“BSU”) and Danubiana Kft., Hungary including all operating subsidiaries to Les Grand Chais de France (“GCF”).

Closing of the transaction is pending as it is subject to antitrust clearance by applicable antitrust authorities.

Peter Binderer highlighted the importance of handing over his family business to one of the most successful international groups in the winery business, which is able to offer a long-term perspective to BSU and its employees by driving the growth of BSU’s leading brands, including “Le Filou”, “D’Amati”, “Corsaire”, and “Sovinello 2Go”. The French winery group Les Grand Chais de France employs more than 2,500 people in over 173 countries and generated almost EUR 1bn in revenues in 2016.
